1. Option 1: tiling

The ranges of floor tile are so large that it is almost impossible to list all the models available. That said, you can assume that everything exists for this basic kitchen flooring, whether in terms of shapes, sizes, colors and finishes.
In addition to being aesthetic, a tile placed on the kitchen floor has the advantage of being resistant:

  • to wear;
  • at the water ;
  • stains;
  • shock;
  • aggressive cleaning products.

In addition, its ease of maintenance is very significant, especially in a messy room like the kitchen!

2. Option 2: porcelain stoneware

Very popular, the stoneware is about to dethrone all the others kitchen floor materials. Made from clay and mineral components, this material is capable of imitating all the others!

Parquet effect, old stone effect, metal effect, leather effect ... porcelain stoneware is a real chameleon material whose tiles come in a multitude of sizes, colors, finishes and thicknesses. It has the same advantages as tiling in terms of its resistance (to impact, wear, water, stains, etc.) and in addition, it has the distinction of staying cold, even during suffocating heat summer.

3. Option 3: wood

Elegant, timeless, warm, authentic, solid ... For a coating of kitchen floor, wood combines qualities and positive points. Ideally, so that it lasts as long as possible and remains as new (or almost!), Opt for resistant exotic woods such as teak, merbau, bamboo, or even ipé. Otherwise, remember to treat and oil your parquet, or to have it vitrified.

To note : if you are not reassured at the idea of using wood for the floor of your kitchen, you can always opt for a porcelain stoneware tile imitation parquet, completely waterproof. The illusion will be perfect!

4. Option 4: cement tiles

Colorful, plain, patterned, neutral, traditional or more contemporary, the family of cement tiles is gigantic, which gives you a considerable choice to cover the floor of your kitchen!
Perfect for delimiting a kitchen area, you can place them on the entire surface of the floor, or in a frieze, along your work surface and / or your kitchen furniture; with cement tiles in the kitchen, anything goes!

For optimal hold and ensure their good longevity, however, be careful to protect and treat your cement tiles after laying, using a sealer: this will protect them from stains.

5. Option 5: waxed concrete

Very appreciated for its raw effect, and for its great resistance to humidity, the waxed concrete is a perfect coating for the kitchen floor since it ages over time: enough to give charm and character to your room! Besides, nothing forces you to confine it to damp rooms: if you want a regular and harmonious floor, it can be poured everywhere in the house. Waxed concrete exists in a multitude of colors, but the classic gray and beige are generally the most appreciated because natural, discreet and sophisticated.

advice : waxed concrete likes the total look, from the floor, to the walls, passing by the kitchen worktop, but also by the furniture!
