1. What is lino made of?

Entirely natural, the lino is composed of resins, linseed oil, minerals, pigments and wood flour, on a burlap support. Non-polluting, non-toxic and fully biodegradable, it is the ideal coating for interiors. Especially since it is very easy to maintain!

Its strong points? Linoleum is:

  • Antibacterial
  • antiseptic
  • antistatic
  • resistant to burns and wear
  • thermal and sound insulation.

Very decorative, le lino is laid like laminate floors: the panels fit into each other by clicking them.

Some brands recommend having it installed by a professional, but you should do it alone. The main thing is to do it carefully, without bending the lino, otherwise it will be damaged. Avoid the first prize lino : quality is often not there! On cement or tiles, it may be necessary to apply a bonding primer beforehand if the floor is too porous, scrape off the protuberances and fill in the gaps with a leveling mortar!

  5. Place it on your floor flat. Hold it around the edges with double-sided tape.
  6. Spread a layer of glue with the spatula, over the entire surface to be laid
  7. Gradually unroll your lino on the glue and smooth immediately to flatten, starting from the center towards the walls. Remove traces of glue.
  8. Put down the lino on the other half of the room, the same way.

5. Your linoleum is installed: think of the finishes!

Your lino is posed and mounted! Now place the plinths: place them on the excess linoleum so as not to see the joints and cut if necessary what protrudes. Then place a threshold bar at the entrance of your room to prevent the lino from coming off with each pass!

As for your furniture, let two or three days pass before repositioning it: the glue will be very dry and you will not mark your brand new linoleum!
